We have entered another dark age, a gloomy period prophesied by Joel….
God will show wonders in the heavens and on the earth, blood and fire and billows of smoke. The sun will be turned to darkness and the moon to blood before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord. (Joel 2:30-31)
The moon shall not give her light, and stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken”. (Matthew24:29)
Both prophecies are pointing to the same time, when darkness (lack of pure spiritual knowledge of God, immorality, wickedness, evil etc) will engross the earth before the coming of the Lord (Isaiah 60:2, Mathew 24:12). The sun, moon, stars, heavens and the earth mentioned in the above scripture are symbolical and are not to be taken literally; the Prophets were speaking about spiritual realities, not physical matters. The prophecies cited above are categorized among the dualistic prophecies, meaning that they have more than one meaning which shouldn't be misinterpreted as a final revelation. Combining both prophetic and comprehensive methods of scriptural interpretation, “the sun” represents the people in whom the world considers “great spiritual leaders” (e.g. the Pope, Protestant Bishops, Arch-Bishops, Apostles, Pastors, Prophets, etc). How do we come about this? Jesus Christ as a perfect spiritual leader was called the Sun, Sun of righteousness “The Light of the world,” (See Psalm 84:11, Malachi 4:2, John 8:12). Those who claim to follow Jesus' path of leadership are supposed to become the sun and should reveal the true nature and Character of God on earth like Jesus Christ so that the people who are walking in darkness can come to the Light by looking at the lifestyle and teaching of the acclaimed spiritual leaders…
“You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.(Mathew5:14-16)
When the Prophets proclaimed that “the sun will be turned to darkness!” it means that leadership in the organized church will be desecrated (due to money and fame seeking the Christian leaders will fail woefully to live Christ’s lifestyle on earth), in other words the religious leaders “bishops, pastors, apostles, prophets, evangelist, teachers etc” will have a form of godliness, but deny the power thereof; bible quoters, great preachers and teachers of doctrines without the ability or the moral force to perform God’s word (2 Timothy 3:5).
The Moon Shall Not Give Her Light ~ The moon as mentioned in the prophecy represents all Christian denominations combined otherwise known as Christendom (for as the moon receive it light through the reflection of the sun, so it is the responsibility of the “Church leaders” to impart vision and direction, or the character of Christ to their members (Ephesians4:11-12). When the Prophets stated the moon will not given her light, or shall be turned into blood, symbolizes that the Christendom will lose the consciousness of holiness, sinlessness and immortality in Christ and adopt to the system of world, then it will be difficult to differentiate between the church and the world. Instead of the Christians imparting God’s kingdom principles to the world, they’ll borrow the pattern of this world into the church. This will happen as a result of those leading Christian churches becoming worldly minded and concerning themselves about earthly things instead of spiritual realities.
Stars Shall Fall From Heaven ~ The stars of heaven speaks about the angels (Revelation1:20), the word angel in Hebrew is “malak” which has the same meaning as the Greek word “angelos” which means messengers or ministers. Angels are not necessarily supernatural beings, they can be human messengers or ministers of God. As we should know, under the new covenant every child of God is a minister…..
Christhath made us able ministers of the New Testament, not of the letter but of the spirit (2Corinthians3:7).
In this regard, the stars of heaven represents individual Christians (Daniel 12:3). When the Prophets prophesied that the stars shall fall from heaven ( Revelation12:4) it means that the Christians (those who are supposed to operate in the spirit realm) will descend and became earthly (money) minded. Instead of Christians to be ascending spiritually (daily purifying their heart and adding the fruit of the spirit) in order to conform fully to the image of Christ, they will be descending (losing spiritual values) to become completely like the world.
These prophecies are fulfilling right before our eyes; one need not be told that all of these events are taking place. The leadership system of the church has been contaminated; God commanded that those who assume the place of leadership in the church “MUST BE BLAMELESS” (1Timothy3:2); however, liars, fraudsters, rapists, gays, lesbians, child molesters, occultists, voodooists, psychics, magicians, sorcerers, shamans and spiritualists like “TB JOSHUA” operate right inside of the organized churches disguised as prophets and prophetesses and the blindfolded masses continue to follow and hail such as great men and women of God. It is almost impossible to find true spiritual mature kingdom minded leaders in the Christian circle, those who are spiritual and can teach accurate principles of the Kingdom of God and guide young believers through the manifestation of Christ's character. Unregenerated money conscious greedy men and woman have dominated the place of leadership in today’s Christian churches, and all that they are doing is competing among themselves on who will gather the largest crowd, build the largest religious auditorium and acquire the latest car and private jets, even if it means taking loans from the bank. However, scripture teaches that a borrower is a slave to the lender (Prov22:7) and Satan has used debt to destroy many so called “men of God”. Some ministers used to teach undiluted messages of salvation and to strictly adhere to God’s kingdom principles, but when they borrowed extreme amounts of money from financial institutions to build their cathedrals and embark upon television ministries, their message and character changed, instead of having humility, pride took over and money became the focal point of their sermons in efforts to raise money to pay off their debts so that the bank won’t reposes their property. They have begun taxing church members, prophesying lies and giving their victims false hope of financial prosperity. Before they’ll honor your invitation to encourage young Christians in your area, you have to book a room for them in a five star hotel, and they’ll advise you of the amount of money they’ll collect from you as an honorarium after their ministration. During Paul the apostles time, the Church members homes were sufficient enough for him to lodge and preach Christ to the people, but today if you don’t have money to pay for a good hotel accommodation you can’t invite preachers to minister to souls in your community. Some of these crooks have even gone to the point of giving their fellow pastors bills before they will agree to preach at their church.
In 2007 a well known preacher in Nigeria desired to hold a crusade in Port Harcourt so he came to Johannesburg, South Africa to raise money for his evangelical gospel campaign, I was shocked when I heard this highly respected “man of God” discussing secretly with a friend of mine, asking him to invest R250,000 in the crusade, that my friend would gain twice the amount he invested because he (the preacher) and his organizing committee had already calculated and mapped out a strategy of how they would recover all the funds borrowed plus interest, according to this acclaimed “great man of God” him and his team had estimated that at least 500,000 will attend the crusade, and from the crowd that came they would raise the money. Now, is that how Jesus Christ and his early apostle preached the gospel? In many occasions Jesus was invited to heal sick people, Christ Jesus did not demand elaborate accommodations before leaving Galilee his home town, or calculated how much money he would make. God will judge every minister of the gospel who use innocent church members for personal financial gain!
It's common these days that most self acclaimed “Men of God” don't like travelling to preach to small congregations. If you are struggling and are inviting them to labor with you in maturing young believers in Christ in your area, the first thing they'll ask is how many members you have in your church, just to access your financial capacity. If they realize that they can’t raise enough money in your church they won't come, but if your congregation is big enough for them, they will seat down with you to discuss how much money they will raise in your church and how much their share will be. Moreover, when they come, sometimes after preaching a good sermon they will spoil everything again through fund raising. It is a pity that some of the “big” pastors most consider as their fathers in faith are also included in this dubious system; young ministers are now using them to raise money, for instance, when the younger ministers want to raise building funds to expand their own business empires they will invite the so call "great men of God" knowing that people will respond when these respected old men ask for donation, and most of this people that we are seeing as father are just living in their past glories; they are not seeing or achieving any new divine realities, all that they saying now is when “I was” what of now? Has God finish working? Is Jesus Christ no longer the same yesterday, today and forever?
People should comprehend that the present day Christianity has become a religion without knowledge, without faith and without a lively hope, a religion without justification, regeneration, sanctification and purification; a religion without any clear views of Christ and the kingdom of God. “Churches” today aren’t any better than any other organized system of pastor worship, formalism, ceremonialism and blind obedience to the pastors and bishops. The religious leaders have dominated and blindfolded the people not to see the reality; they’ve exalted themselves instead of God over their congregation. Pastors in today’s churches are no longer servants but LORDS! Church members are now spectators instead of co-workers in the kingdom of God. Christians goes to church these days to watch performance of supper priests and afterward pay their entertainment fees in the name of tithe and offering in anticipation for financial prosperity; not many Christians are willing to take the gospel of Christ to the unreached people groups of the world, but everyone to receive financial breakthrough. Most keep living in sin and continue to justify their weaknesses and wickedness in the name of grace, as if the grace of God is a license to sin. Money and fame has replaced God in the hearts of many Christians, which is pure idolatry! Purity and transparency is gone in Christendom! Most gospel artists’ no longer sing to praise God but instead for entertainment purposes and to win awards, women attend church half-naked and no one addresses the issue! “The sun has turned to darkness, the moon into blood and the stars of heaven have falling.” This is the best time for us to deeply seek for God on personal level through real fasting, prayer, meditation and serious studies……
THICKER DARKNESS IS STILL AHEAD: We must understand that things are going to get worse, the acts of wickedness that we are witnessing in the structural church and in the world is just a tip of the iceberg; we are about to enter a time of total blackout, iniquity will be found in every human endeavor (Revelation13:16-17). The governments will try openly to control everything including how churches run their affairs. Many Christian leaders will be forced to recognize gay marriage, and also pressurized into conducting gay marriages which has already started. Many Christians have lost their job because they speak against homosexuality. In some so called Christian countries open prayer and sharing God’s word has been banned in public places. In the music and movie industries today if you are not willing to expose your body and use dirty language, you won’t make as much money as one not willing to compromise decency. Some industries won’t consider non-homosexuals, non-lesbians or non gay supporters, and in other places it is expected of one to offer a bribe in order to secure a job. Divorce, abortion, and prostitution have now become a normal way of life. Nudity and sex are taking over television programs, Satanism and occultism has taking over our schools while terrorism and brutal killings are being displayed around the world. Soon a one world religious system that will stand against the word of God completely will be formed and everyone in this world will be forced to submit to its principles which its beliefs and constitutions will favor all religions. Many people have begun to believe that Jesus is not the only way to God; they are saying that all religion leads to God. Those who are not willing to compromise the truth will pay with their blood…BE PREPARED!
FIVE GREAT SPIRITUAL PRINCIPLES TO DEFEAT THE HOST OF DARKNESS: There is no other way that we can overcome the forces of evil than to abide in God’s divine instruction; to stand undefiled in perverse and crooked generation we must deeply “walk” (not talk) on God’s revelation given by the Holy Spirit through the ancient prophets and apostles of the Lord. We must whole heartedly embrace the greatest commandment of the Lord, “the Shema Israel”....
Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God is one Lord: And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might. And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart: (Deuteronomy6:4-6)
Jesus Christ considered this scripture the greatest and most important commandment that Yahweh gave through Moses….(Mathew22:34-40) Let’s me briefly explain the scripture;
(1). Hear, O Israel: Presently Israel comprises of those who are circumcised in heart, those that love the Lord indeed (Romans2:28).The first thing we are to do in this hour of darkness is to learn to listen to God; we must avoid doing anything without first hearing from God, Jesus says, the Son can do nothing on his own accord, but only what he sees the Father doing, What the Father does, the Son does likewise (John5:19). In this case, there is a need for us to revive our lifestyle of prayer, fasting, studying, meditation and visualization. It's one thing to read and quote bible verses, but another thing to hear the inner voice of God. To hear God’s voice like the ancient prophets, we must make every effort to attain the prophetic state, a dimension where one succeeds in putting all wondering thoughts under control and listen to the inner voice of the Spirit (Habak2:20). It is somewhat easier to achieve the prophetic state through dry fasting and meditation. It's unfortunate that the Christians have discounted the life of private prayer, fasting and meditation for the eastern religions; many see meditation as something belonging to the Hindu, Jain, Buddha, Silk, Hare Krishna and other Indian sects. But we’re all commanded to meditate on God’s word day and night;
This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success (Joshua1:8).
There is a need for us to learn how to isolate ourselves externally and internally to be constantly in tune with the Spirit, for this is not the time of bread and butter Christianity; this is a time of self discipline and sacrifice! It’s good to pray with a group of true Christians, but it‘s more important now to spend time alone with the Spirit.
(2) The Lord our God is one Lord: This means that we must set one God before us and avoid making a mortal (a religious leader) an ultimate oracle, or mediator between us and God; our eyes must be fixed on Christ alone (Hebrews12:2). Christians aren't growing spiritually because they fail to see beyond their religious leaders. When leaders are short sighted and fail to advance spiritually, their followers will never be allowed to see and grow beyond them spiritually which is why it’s not good to follow men, the children of God must fix their eyes on Christ not on men… If your focus is on man your life will be full of disappointment, hurt and bitterness, but as you pursue holiness and continue looking unto God, your life will be transformed daily. Those who look to God are radiant; their faces are never covered with shame (Psalm34:5). It’ll be impossible for those who are looking unto God to become fixed and static in one revelation of God like the organizational Christians. God is new every morning, and every day we must see something new in Him that we have never seen since the day that we were created. It’s the spiritual image and likeness of Christ that our internal eyes perceive that changes our physical personality, not bible stories; believers should be encouraged to see Christ and establish a personal relationship with Him.In addition, we must say no to spiritual idolatry; as we should know, Idolatry isn’t all about bowing down to physical images; the uppermost idol resides in the human mind…
And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, Son of man, these men have set up their idols in their heart, and put the stumblingblock of their iniquity before their face: should I be enquired of at all by them? Thus saith the Lord GOD; Every man of the house of Israel that setteth up his idols in his heart (Ezekiel14:1-4).
The word of God should occupy the center of our hearts, but when we allow other things to take the place of God in our minds, that fixation then becomes our idol; it can be your family, children, friends, job, education, fashion etc. The weapons of our warfare aren’t carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds; casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ (2Cor10:4-5). Anything occupying the center of our hearts instead of God is an idol! The word idol or image can also signify a soulish picture of a thing that we create in our heart through imagination, for example; some single men who’re looking for a wife have a painted picture in their mind of the kind of woman they desire; they pray, fast, and dream focusing on that picture in their carnal mind without even asking God to give them the type of woman they need, that’s idolatry! Anything we do without putting God first is idolatry.
(3) And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thine heart: this means that we must desire God above everything in life, and always keep His commandments even when it hurts. We should also understand His commandment is to love other people as Jesus Christ loves us….(John 13:34-35). The love of Christ is totally unconditional, it is the kind of love that can take one to the cross to die for another so that person can receive the light of God just like our Lord Jesus Christ has done. Many say Jesus has already done it for us, we need not die for anybody to be saved, but that is not true. After Christ, Peter was crucified with his body upside down in Rome. Andrew was nailed to a trace at Edessa and hung on the tree for two days in pain, on the third day, he died still preaching Jesus. James (son of Zebedee) was killed by the sword of Herod in Jerusalem, John was put into boiling oil at Jerusalem but he was not harmed and was exiled to Patmos Island, later he died at Ephesus. Philip was hung from a pillar at Hiropolis, Bartholomew was burned to death by the Armenian king, Mathew was killed in a toen in Ethiopia, and Thomas was speared to death at Mylapur near Chennai in India. James was pushed from the top of a temple then beaten to death with a club. Jude (Thaddaeus) was killed with an arrow at the town of Oruch; Simon the Zealot was crucified in Persia; Mathias was beheaded after being stoned down, Emperor Nero in Rome beheaded Paul, Mark was dragged along the main street of Alexandria in Egypt and died. Luke was hanged on a big olive tree in Greece, and Barnabas was stoned to death at Salamis. Many other true Christians after the early disciples offered their lives just to see the salvation of other people. True love never sees nor speaks evil of someone, but seeks to strengthen and perfect the weak.
(4) And with all thy soul: Loving the Lord with “all our soul” means choosing rather to die as martyr than to betray God. Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego demonstrated this when they refused to bow down and worship the image of gold that King Nebuchadnezzar made…
Then Nebuchadnezzar in furious rage commanded that Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego be brought. So they brought these men before the king. Nebuchadnezzar answered and said to them, “Is it true, O Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, that you do not serve my gods or worship the golden image that I have set up? Now if you are ready when you hear the sound of the horn, pipe, lyre, trigon, harp, bagpipe, and every kind of music, to fall down and worship the image that I have made, well and good. But if you do not worship, you shall immediately be cast into a burning fiery furnace. And who is the god who will deliver you out of my hands?”
Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego answered and said to the king, “O Nebuchadnezzar, we have no need to answer you in this matter. If this be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of your hand, O king But if not, be it known to you, O king, that we will not serve your gods or worship the golden image that you have set up.”(Daniel3)
(5) And with all thy might: to love the Lord with “all our might” means with your wealth, it is not a matter of given ten percent; everything we have belongs to God. for Christ says,( ALL [THINGS THAT ARE] MINE ARE YOURS, AND ALL [THINGS THAT ARE] YOURS BELONG TO ME (John17:10).What Christ says in John17:10 is the standard of giving for every true disciple(Whatever you own belongs to God) don’t call anything your own…..The early apostles practiced this; All the believers were one in heart and mind. No one claimed that any of their possessions was their own, but they shared everything they had.(Act4:32) To fully overcome the Anti-christ system in this age we must reach that point where we can easily give anything away for the sake of gaining Christ…..
But whatever were gains to me I now consider loss for the sake of Christ. What is more, I consider everything a loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them garbage, that I may gain Christ,(Philipians3:7-8)
When we keep these words in our heart and practice them, nothing can defeat us…. this word is what David kept his heart when he said; thy word have I hid in mine heart, that i might not sin against thee (Psalm119:11). MAY THE LORD HELP US IN YEHOSHUA’S NAME!
