The Eternal Call of God

T he name church “the called out” suggests that Christians are called out for a specific purpose. Since we lack kingdom minded teachers in this present time, the majority of Christians don’t know what their calling is. When you ask those who think they know what their calling is, some will say they’re called to be apostles, some, prophets; some, evangelists; some, pastors and teachers. But in reality, God’s calling is beyond the ministerial calling; ministerial gifts are given to enable us to fulfill our spiritual or the heavenly calling (Hebrews3:1). Paul the apostle said that God didn’t call us to uncleanness, but unto holiness. (1Thessa4:7) Paul also said that God has saved us and calleduswith a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace which was given to us in Christ Jesus before time began (2Timothy1:9).
