pathway to Immortality

God created us in the beginning to enjoy a sinless life without death, but the disobedience of the first man Adam imparted the nature of sin and death to humanity and blinds us completely from locating the spiritual path to sinlessness and immortality; but, thanks be to God that the second Adam which is Jesus Christ the son of God has come and restored life back to us by giving us the Holy Spirit to reveal and guide us to the path of righteousness and everlasting life. (Romans 5:12-27)

The bible says that there is a way that seems right to man but the end of it is destruction. These scriptures show us that life has two different directions, one way leads to life eternal, while the other leads to everlasting destruction. (Proverb 14:12 )
Jesus says:
Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.(Matthew7:13-14)
The way that leads to life eternal is called the narrow way, the way that leads to destruction is called the broad way (Matthew 7:13-14).

It is obvious that just a few people are walking in the narrow way, and the majority of the worlds population are walking in the broad way. Many Christians have been deceived into believing that people walking in the broad way are the unbelievers of the world, but the truth is that it is not only people of the world that are journeying through the broad way, there are many professed Christians traveling through the broad way. This may not be clear to many of us Christians, because for centuries we have interpreted the narrow way to mean the moral way of living and the broad way to be immoral way of living, but it is important for us to note that walking in the narrow path is beyond practicing a moral life. If it were all about living a moral life, then people from false religions who don’t believe in Christ but are more zealous in doing good works than us Christians would be considered walking in the narrow way; for example, Muslims pray five times a day, some of them don’t smoke, drink or womanize. We should not forget that the bible says all our righteousness is like a filthy rag before God (Isaiah 64:6) and by works of the law, no flesh shall be justified (Galatians 3:16).
The narrow and broad way represents The Path of God and The Act of God. The book of Psalms 103:7 tells us that God revealed His path to His prophet Moses and showed His act to the children of Israel. The Path of God is God’s divine nature and His character the Act of God are His miraculous signs.
In the New Testament, the Path of God is represented by the Fruits of the Holy Spirit which is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control and so forth (Galatians 5:22).The Act of God are the Gifts of the Holy Spirit which are words of wisdom, words of knowledge, the gifts of healing, the working of miracles, prophecy, discerning of spirits, divers kinds of tongues, the interpretation of tongues (1Corinthians 12:4-8).
Whenever the Spirit of God moves both His path and His act will be revealed. And some will pursue after the act, while some will the follow the path, but the signs and wonders which represents the act, are just an impact of God passing by, but the reality is always in the Path, that is why when people chase after the new move of God instead of fixing their eyes on God of the Move, they will all end up forming organizations instead of conforming to Christ’s character, because God is eternal but His move will only last for a time and the fire will become cool.

The majority of Christians are busy chasing after miracles, signs and wonders which are the Act of God, while the remnant are desiring the fruits of the spirit with an expectation to conform fully to the nature and the character of God. As many Christians that are patiently and sacrificially growing in the spirit, adding the fruits of the spirit daily in their lives with the aim of reaching sinless perfection and to achieve immortality by faith in Christ are those walking in the narrow way (Romans 2:7-8). The bible says that we should make every effort to add to our faith goodness, and to goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control, and to self-control, perseverance, and to perseverance, godliness, and to godliness, brotherly kindness, and to brotherly kindness, love (2 Peter 1:3-8).
Prophet Enoch fore-shadow the remnant of Christians who are traveling through the narrow way. Enoch walked with God by faith, pleasing Him to the point of being transformed to immortality without tasting physical death. Prophet Enoch was like us, he also inherited a sin nature after the fall of Adam, but by faith, he discovered and believed that he could exit from sin nature and enter into the sinless nature of God. Enoch pursued this vision to the level that God transformed him (Genesis 5:24, Heb 11:5). There is a possibility of remaining alive untill Christ comes, it is by faith and the grace of God. Jesus says, I assure you, most solemnly I tell you, if anyone observes My teaching [lives in accordance with My message, keeps My word], he will by no means ever see and experience death. (John8:51 Amplified Bible) in another scripture He says: And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this? John 8:26 (see also Mark9:1 and 1Corinthians15:51). All that we as Christians need is to fix our eyes on Christ and walk out our salvation with fear and trembling just as the bible says. (Philipians2:12). Our Salvation in Christ is progressive, that is the reason why the bible says:
And do this, understanding the present time. The hour has come for you to wake up from your slumber, because our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed.(Romans13:11)
To start the race is important but the most important is to reach the end. The lord says:
But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved. Matthew24:13King Solomon also says:
Better is the end of a thing than the beginning thereof: and the patient in spirit is better than the proud in spirit. Ecclesiastes 7:8
We started by justification and we must undergo thorough sanctification and purification of both the spirit, soul and body before reaching glorification (1Thesalonians5:23). On the day of glorification all Christians who are internally journeying to the state of sinless perfection will meet Jesus Christ at His coming and He will transform them to immortality where they remain with Him forever(Romans2:7-8, 1Corinthians15:50-56).
Those Christians who are walking in the broad way represent the material conscious believers, those who want only the blessings without the source. Their minds are fixed on miracles, signs and wonders. They have no true relationship, fellowship, or personal intimacy with Jesus Christ, all that they want is to receive miracles from God and then continue in their selfish ways. It will be very difficult for material conscious Christians to reach the end, the end entails total conformity to the image of Jesus Christ. The Lord is coming back for a perfect church, a church that has no spot nor wrinkle. Now the question is, if Jesus comes back today how many Christians will make it to heaven? May the Lord grant us spiritual understanding. In Jesus’ name ,Amen!
